Racquel Mar

Racquel Mar, from Clarkston, MI, trained at multiple studios in southeast Michigan including Spotlight Dance Works under the direction of Liz Schmidt. Racquel earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine, where she had the opportunity to study with the legendary Donald McKayle as a member of his UCI Etude Ensemble in addition to working with Lar Lubovitch to perform his Legend of Ten. Upon graduating in 2017, Racquel moved to Chicago to be a part of DanceWorks Chicago under the direction of Julie Nakagawa. Racquel has expanded her dance training through various programs including Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Chuthis., and b12 Berlin Workshop. As a freelance dance artist, Racquel has also worked with New Dances, Purus Motus, and Boykin Dance Project.
